		Richard Kalan Porter (born November 11, 1985) is a singer from Medicine Hat, Alberta [1], who was the second winner of the reality television series Canadian Idol.
		Kalan's fanbase is generally known as the "Kalanadians" (a portmanteau of the words Kalan and Canadian).
		Beating out 8,977 other contestants, Porter was crowned "Idol" on September 16, 2004 in front of a live TV audience not the fact Kalan Porter was the only Idol that was never in the bottom 2's or 3's in Canadian Idol history.
