In summary, my theory is that at a conscious or sub-conscious level, sensuality has been used to make spirituality more appealing thru thamizh literature from the olden days to today, and not the other way around; therefore, these literary works can be interpreted on several different planes depending on the listener's frame of mind.
That letter "ik" between "idai" and "Kannamma" has been bothering me--that implies that "idai" is an adjective to Kannamma.
