	Kamanjab, Namibia
		Like many Namibian towns that appear as a large dot on the map, they turn out to be very small with not much more than the essential facilities of a petrol station, liquor store and a couple of grocery shops.
		Kamanjab is no different with dry dusty streets and a few houses with well tended gardens.
		If you are in need of a foreign exchange you could have a problem here as I did when I asked a local, “Excuse me, where is the bank?” He answered, “Next Tuesday!” The most unusual sight you will see in town, is a local Herero women dressed in her national costume.

	Kamanjab official digs in over demotion
		THE Secretary of the Kamanjab Village Council, who was suspended last year on misconduct charges, has appealed against a decision to demote him.
		Council Chairperson Magdalena Aebes told The Namibian this week that a disciplinary hearing conducted by three officials from the Regional, Local Government and Housing Ministry found Jafet Araeb guilty of an assortment of charges, including mismanagement and misappropriation of Council funds.
		Aebes said the Kamanjab Council was now waiting for orders from the Ministry of Local Government before taking the next step.
