Kamelot is one of metal’s most unique, influential and prestigious acts to come along in decades.
As one of the most difficult-to-categorise artists on the metal scene, Kamelot are poised to assault the planet with their most insightful and ambitious project to date, Ghost Opera.
Kamelot tell the (fictitious) story of a young-and-hopeful opera singer who is attacked, raped and injured on her way to her great debut, she could never recover from this traumatic event and every day and night she wonders what that night would have been like on her debut.

Kamelot - The Black Halo - Dead Rebel Society - Reviews Music
Kamelot is a Florida based metal band that started out as an average power metal outfit only to evolve into a darker more progressive field as time passed.
Well, Kamelot has that old school Queensryche approach to their songwriting, basing their songs around Khan’s beautiful round vocals and adding strong guitar riffs and dramatic arrangements with grand piano and symphonic strings.
Kamelot weaves more theatrical elements into their music and execute with sharp instrumental precision the smarter arrangements and the subtle twists.

PROGRESSIVEWORLD.NET: REVIEWS BY LARRY "LARRYD" DAGLIERI
Compared to previous Kamelot recordings, in which Jim Morris had a hand in grabbing a huge, epic sounding snare drum that resonated throughout your room, this time out the snare drum sounds a bit on the weaker side, but not as bad as people have mentioned.
Even the guitar sound is not as crunchy and boomy as previous Kamelot discs, but I have a feeling that a lot of this was intentional, as to keep from sounding exactly like a previous Kamelot disc.
Kamelot is poised to write that masterpiece that we all want them to write, but in the meantime, we are given quality metal, Kamelot style.

Kamelot has found a comfort zone in blending these styles and sounds together, and have continued on where discs like Karma and The Fourth Legacy started, but it’s evident that the songwriting and performance have been kicked up a notch, which has always been one of Kamelot’s strong points.

Kamelot, Epica, & More at Key Club :: All Access Magazine :: Keeping Local Music Alive
On Wednesday, October 11th, Kamelot held court at the Key Club in West Hollywood, accompanied on tour by Dutch sextet Epica, and preceded by opening acts Advent, Deception, and King's Field, and the avid audience was royally entertained.
Headliners Kamelot fulfilled Goth and metal appearances by dressing all in fl, and their stage backdrop and Casey Grillo's pair of bass drums carried the image of a crown of thorns (an emblem suitable for both genres) surrounding Kamelot's Maltese cross logo.
Since Kamelot's "Epica" title was key inspiration for their Dutch partners on this tour, it was appropriate that Epica's Simone Simons joined Khan on stage to sing "The Haunting," just as she did in the studio.

KAMELOT managed to get one of metal's best vocalists when they managed to convince ex-CONCEPTION Roy Chan, to join them, a few years ago, replacing the impeccable and amazing Mark Vanderbilt at the vocal helm.
Since then, they have released a barrage of sensational prog inclined, lyrical power metal albums and have established them in the upper echelon of the given genres ranks, easily nullifying some rather boring and Trite Europower bands, with their weak, one dimensional and rather flat singers.
This spring KAMELOT will unleash their god knows 8th, perhaps album, if we consider the live album, a proper release.

Kamelot - 'Epica' review @ into-obscurity.com[enter the underground]
By all my power metal standards, Kamelot should be a great band.
They have the pompous sound to their songs that I tend to like this genre, and also a progressive element more recently exposed on this new album.
While I'll admit I was a staunch opponent of power metal during the years the other two were written, I've since become pretty fanatical about the stuff.
