	Overview
		Towards midday they embarked on an inspiring boat tour of the caldera and, to their excitement, found themselves at the foot of Nea Kameni, the historic and unique volcano.
		It was not an easy trek to the top, but the breathtaking views were more than enough to help them on their way.

		Next we were taken to the port to board a traditional wooden boat to cruise to Nea Kameni, a lava islet that broke off from the mainland during the huge eruption that blew apart Santorini around 1450 BC.
