 Japan Omnibus - Sightseeing - Kanto Area - East Kanto
The east coast of the peninsula is known as Sotobo (outer Boso) and the west coast as Uchibo (inner Boso).
From Tokyo station, Kamogawa is about 2 hours 10 minutes on the Sotobo Line and Tateyama is about 2 hours on the Uchibo Line.

Just to add a bit of confusion, Kamogawa is also the name of a river in Kyoto, but its not the same as the Kamogawa river that flows through the town of Kamogawa.
Upon arriving in Kamogawa, I discovered this strange, cold, white substance.
This is the the thriving center of the metropolis that is Kamogawa.

Next to Okayama Prefectural Museum, it is located on the east bank of the Asahi River.
There are five covered shopping areas in Okayama City, which have tons and tons of shops varying from the Japanese version of a dollar store (100yen) to designer clothing boutiques in which a pair of socks would cost you somewhere around 60 bucks (6,000 yen).
The centerpiece of the resort is the 'Sunayu' rotenburo (open-air bath) which is free for all, open all year, co-ed.

5th grade students and parents went to research Kamogawa, a river which runs through our community on July 10.
The living things we found were Zacco temmincki, pale chub, Arctic lamprey, dragonfly nymph of Seiboldius albardae, leech, caddis worm, water strider, Mataeopsephus japonicus, Laccortrepes japonensis, and so on.
I am glad to know that Kamogawa is rather clean.

After the activities we were treated to a spectacular traditional dance called Kakura (I think?), which culminated in a battle between a warrior and a giant snake, drunk on sake.
When we arrived back in Okayama City, a few of us went to meet the sole Okayama JET in Group C, arriving all alone that day, and take him out to dinner.

To encourage commuters to use public transport, the bus arrival prediction system, which informs users of the bus arrival time via the Internet, CATV and mobile phone with Internet access, was introduced in December 1999 on the shuttle bus service on the National Highway No. 30 (between Okayama Station and Uno Port).
In the major urban areas in Okayama Prefecture, vehicles waiting for a vacancy in front of parking lots and those driving around to find a parking space often cause traffic congestion.
