		Within hours of the Kancheepuram magistrate’s order, senior defence lawyer, Mr B Kumar moved the Madras High Court seeking it be set aside on the sole ground that “during the pendency of the bail petition in the High Court, the magistrate ought not to have granted police custody”.

		Appu, alias Krishnasamy, one of the main accused in the Sankararaman murder case, on Sunday surrendered before Tamil Nadu police personnel in Balakrishnapuram village in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh.
