	Strategy puts Kanowna Belle in drivers seat
		With AurionGold intersecting further strong grades at depth at its flagship Kanowna Belle mine, located 18km north-east of Kalgoorlie, the company is deciding whether to sink an expensive shaft to extract the precious ore or to continue relying on truck haulage operations that have proved to be extremely cost-efficient to date.
		The results show a significant body of favourable data to the east of blocks C and D, indicating both the potential for a new mineralised zone and the possibility of a high grade depth extension to the east of Block E. Further drilling is scheduled.
		Kanowna Belle uses the system of pyramid mining, spreading stress points across a broad base and reducing pressure on workings.

	Dewatering process cuts costs at Kanowna Belle
		In September 2001 Kanowna Belle installed three Eimco Agidisc filters at its paste backfill plant to prepare tailings for use as backfill in the site’s mined-out stopes.
		At Kanowna Belle, tailings are taken from the mill through the thickener and then on to the Agidisc filters.
		Kanowna Belle engineering specialist Alan Welsh says that although backfilling with tailings is a long used method, their way of doing it with a paste made from the tailings and cement provides a much safer fill than other backfill methods.

		In August of 1914 she was requisitioned as a Trooper, and carried troops to New Guinea, next, she went off to England to be fitted out as a 452 bed Hospital ship.
