		Blomdahl is onder de huidige generatie van Zweedse componisten wel de figuur, die het sterkst op de voorgrond treedt, niet alleen in zijn eigen land, maar ook daarbuiten.
		Hoewel Blomdahl maar weinig liederen op zijn naam heeft staan, is het gehalte ervan zo hoog, dat hij op dit terrein in zijn generatie als de belangrijkste onder de Zweedse componisten beschouwd moet worden, zoals Lars-Erik Larsson zulks in de voorgaande was en Bo Nilsson dat in de nakomende generatie zou worden.
		Het hoogtepunt van Blomdahls balletkunst is het Spel voor acht (1962).

		Most are relatively unfamiliar outside of their homeland, although Atterberg achieved fame in the late 1920s when his Dollar Symphony won an international competition and was played by Sir Thomas Beecham.

		Atterberg's use of modality at times makes it reminiscent of Vaughan Williams' Tallis Fantastia, and it is just about as lovely and nearly as significant.
		The lovely little Blomdahl romance might come as a surprise to listeners who only know this composer from his stringent, modern-to-the-max compositions.
