KARL CZERNY (1791-1857), Austrian pianist and composer, was born at Vienna on the 21st of February 1791.
His father, who was a teacher of the piano, trained him for that instrument from an early age with such success that he performed in public at the age of nine, and commenced his own career as a teacher at fourteen.
Czerny died on the 15th of July 1857 at Vienna.

Carl Czerny (sometimes Karl; February 21, 1791 - July 15, 1857) was an Austrian pianist, composer and teacher.
Czerny was born in Vienna and was first taught the piano by his father before taking lessons from Ludwig van Beethoven.
Czerny also composed a very large number of pieces, including a number of Masses and Requiems, and a large number of symphonies, concertos, sonatas and string quartets.
