For those who don't know, Mountain Bike Weekend takes place in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains in a town called Jim Thorpe (originally called Mauch Chunk, it was later renamed for the famous Native-American athlete, click here for more information on the man).
Jim Thorpe is also the old stomping ground of our infamous webmaster, Jeff Lockwood, who joined Karl and myself for a weekend of selling swag and subscriptions (thanks to Accelerade for providing 30 cans of their sports drink to give away with subscriptions), and of course, riding bikes.

In 1890, came rumours of the discovery of gold on the banks of the Selati River near Leydsdorp.
This started a rush to the Selati River Gold Field where Karl Mauch, the most optimistic geologist of the 19th century prophesied that gold would be found.
