	Traditional Tagalog songs as originally Cebuano
		It’s not fair to Mang Levi as well as to the original composers and lyricists of the songs the way credits were endowed by the book.
		The original Ang Pasko ay Sumapit is Kasadya Ning Taknaa, which is still the most popular Cebuano Christmas carol in the Visayas and Mindanao and being sung in its original Bisayan lyrics.
		Andres Cristobal Cruz, in the Isyu daily newsmagazine of June 6, 1998, wrote that Ang Pasko Ay Sumapit was purloined original Kasadya Ning Taknaa.

	Sun.Star Cebu - The man behind the carol
		Cebuano playwrights planned to stage a play that called for a scene wherein a group of carolers with castanets made of tansan were to carol at the gate of a big house in exchange for gifts.
		Noy Inting came up with the music needed for the caroling scene and his neighbor Mariano Vestil composed the lyrics to match, thus, Kasadya Ning Takna-a was born.
		Two years after he filed suit against Mareco in Quezon City for unpaid royalties and rights, the case was temporarily dismissed for the reason that Rubi could not pay his way to Manila to appear before the court.

	Sun.Star Cebu - Quiet passing for man behind ‘Kasadya’ lyrics
		Little was known about Vestil except for his contribution to the late Vicente “Inting” Rubi’s 1933 composition Kasadya.
		He was an athlete in his younger years, even becoming a member of the Sweet 65 Softball Team in Cebu City.
		Like the late composer Rubi—who didn’t receive royalties for Kasadya until his death in November 1980—Vestil also did not receive a single centavo for the song’s lyrics.
