Kashio River - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It begins near the city of Totsuka (戸塚) at the confluence of the Akuwa River (阿久和川) and the Hiradonagaya River (平戸永谷川) and flows for 11 kilometers to the city of Fujisawa, where it merges with the Sakai River (境川) at the confluence known as Kawana (川名).
The predecessor of the Kashio River was the shallow Ofuna Estuary (大船入江), which existed from the end of the last ice age to about 300 BC.
The early lake formed in the floodplain of the Kashio River is probably the lake mentioned in the Enoshima Engi, a history of the area.

The Katase River (片瀬川) is the name of a segment of a river in Shonan, which is in central Japan, about 50 kilometers southwest of Tokyo.
The Katase River refers to the approximately 3-kilometer-long segment of the river from Kawana (川名) in the city of Fujisawa (藤沢), where the Sakai (境川) and Kashio (柏尾川) rivers join, to the point at Enoshima Island, where the Katase River flows into Sagami Bay.
The Katase River and its tributaries are prone to flooding, especially in spring and the typhoon season in late summer and early autumn.

This phrase refers to a beautiful area centered on the Xiao River (瀟江) and the Xiang River (湘江) south of the Yangtze River in Hunan.
In Japan, the scenery of the Shonan area was thought to be similar to the scenery around the Xiao and Xiang rivers in Hunan, China; hence the term "Shonan" (Chinese: "xiang1 nan2," another name for the Hunan region) came to be applied to the area around Enoshima in Japan.
Among others, the lake is fed by the Xiang and Xiao rivers (the Xiao is a tributary of the Xiang).

The landscape of Kashmir is mostly mountainous, but there are several large river valleys such as this one, the Liddar Valley.
Even the valleys in this area may be above sea level, at an altitude of at least 1,220 m/4,000 ft. It is not an easy place to live, and the political and religious differences of the inhabitants may to some degree reflect this.
Through Kashmir flow the headwaters of the Indus, Jhelum, and Chenab rivers, important sources of water for irrigation of the plains of Pakistan.

The main river of concern to this study is the Kashio River, whose catchment basin is mainly around Totsuka, Ofuna, and parts of Kamakura.
The difference between the elevation of the Kashio River at its sources and at its mouth is not large, and the river tends to flow slowly when not in flood.
It states: "The Kashio River, whose catchment basin is in Yokohama and Kamakura, is a violent river that overflows frequently (柏尾川は横浜・鎌倉を流域とし、度々氾濫をしてきた暴れ川です).

The correlations between the characteristics of the dragon, a god of rivers, and the flooding and other environmental conditions related to the violent rivers of the locality are clear.
Whenever there is heavy rain into the river's catchment basin, as when a typhoon passes in the vicinity, which occurs several times annually, the river rises drastically within a few hours, and often there is flooding somewhere along its course.
