The other officer in question, Deputy Superintendent Robert E. O'Toole, not related to Kathleen O'Toole, was the man who, while in command of operations around Fenway, encouraged officers to shoot their supposedly non-lethal projectiles into the crowd.
The Boston Globe reported the reassignment of two key officers involved in the two investigations into Snelgrove's death, one internal and one external, Commissioner O'Toole has pledged that the results of the police department's internal investigation will be made public in March.
We can only hope that O'Toole will stand by her promise and not coddle the officers who are responsible, hiding them from an appropriate punishment.

Boston.com / News / Local / Mass. / Verdict seen to reflect growing skepticism
Boston Police Commissioner Kathleen M. O'Toole said yesterday that interrogation techniques used by her officers are being examined and may be revised by a panel of officers, prosecutors, and defense attorneys.
During the trial, prosecutors played a Boston police tape recording of defendant Kyle Bryant, who was 17 at the time of the murder, confessing to being on the scene when a friend stabbed Chauntae Jones and buried her alive on the grounds of the former Boston State Hospital.
Yet yesterday's acquittal of a 22-year-old Boston man in the 1999 murder of his pregnant 14-year-old girlfriend shows that the government can't count on winning cases even when they can use a defendant's own words against him, legal specialists said.
