		Kathleen Ryan was born in Renfrew, Ontario and attended Queen's to study economics, graduating with an Honors Bachelor of Arts in 1926.
		Kathleen Ryan also provided the money for the conversion of the New Medical Building into a home for the university archives, and the building was named in her honour.

		Kathleen Mary Ryan, a San Francisco attorney who had an active, successful family law practice and did a great deal of pro bono work for indigent clients, died Saturday after a six-month battle against leukemia, her family said yesterday.
		Ryan's career, she participated in the Volunteer Legal Service Program and was involved in the Hastings Law School Family Law Clinic.
		Ryan also was an avid sailor and a gourmet cook who delighted in holding elaborate Halloween and Thanksgiving parties for her family and friends.
