The town has schools, a church, three squares (plateia), banks, a police station, a fire station, a water tower to the south, a stadium near Kapeli, and a train station in the east.
Kato Achaia is the seat of the municipality of Dymi, sometimes as Dyme, before the 1990s, Dimi (Greek: Δημος Δύμης) with the population of 8,765 (2001?) which includes the communities of:
