  Kathrin Boron - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kathrin Boron (born November 4, 1969 in Eisenhüttenstadt, Germany) is a German sculler, and four-times Olympic gold medalist.
Boron won the women's double sculls at the 1992 Summer Olympics and 2000 Summer Olympics with Jana Thieme, and the women's quad sculls at the 1996 Summer Olympics and 2004 Summer Olympics.
She has also won eight world championship titles.

Remarkably, three rowers joined the elite group of Olympians who have won four gold medals in consecutive games over the weekend: Matthew Pinsent, Boron and the 39-year-old Elisabeta Lipa, a member of the Romanian eight which won gold for the third games running.
Lipa consolidated her place as the most medalled Olympic rower with eight, and also became the first female rower to win five golds, having taken her first in Los Angeles back in 1984.

The German duo remained patient and managed to push through the Belarussian double in the final quarter of the race to claim the wind, with the strain visibly evident on the competitors faces as they flashed on the giant video screen.
