		Katy is located partially in the counties of Fort Bend, Waller, and Harris.
		Named for the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad (commonly referred to at the "Katy Railroad", now a part of Union Pacific) that ran through it in the 19th century, the Houston suburb's prime attraction is the Katy Mills Mall.
		Katy Area is made up of large sections of unincorporated Harris and Fort Bend counties and for the most part sits east of the City of Katy.

		The Mills Corp. escalated the stakes in the Katy Freeway outlet mall race by announcing Tuesday that a 30-screen AMC movie theater will be built adjacent to its proposed Katy Mills mall.
		The Katy Mills mall would be less than five miles from the proposed Houston Premium Outlets mall, to be located at the intersection of the Katy Freeway and the Grand Parkway.
		The Mills Corp. said the announcement of the AMC theater is a sure sign that the Katy Mills mall is a solid deal.
