According to a note from Jonathon Katcher, Grandma Katcher and Grandma Efrusy were known as 2 of "the seven sisters of Kazatin." Grandpa Lewis was born in Raskapinian/Raskopana.
Kazatin (Lat 49.43, Long 28.50) is located 28.1 mi WNW of Pogrebisce.
The town of Pogrebishche is situated on the Khrystynivka - Kazatin rail line; it has 1,800 Jews and 5,000 Christians.

After volunteering and working part-time for Project Kesher, Slobodyanik joined the organization full-time in 2000.
