  larry keel experience
Larry Keel is a young veteran musician who combines a deep connection to Bluegrass heritage along with his highly developed ability to play and compose music ranging from classical-sounding to heavy metal energy, all the while paying respect to any style of “roots” music and music with taste.
While Keel pays his deepest respects to the masters who invented their music, as in the case with Bluegrass, he is becoming a master himself of his own music.
Larry Keel is a true heir to the Bluegrass legacy, and his talents as a guitar genius, as an innovative and soulful singer-songwriter and as a bandleader place him on the cutting edge of the musical and cultural energies of our time.

 Metal-Rules.com: Interview With Ron Keel
KEEL was a very special band, I feel fortunate for the bond we had and the wonderful experiences we shared, and that we had the chance to compete in the big game.
After several years with that band I returned to my country roots and did a couple of country albums…these were recently compiled onto one CD and released as "The Country Years", available on my site www.ronkeel.com.
KEEL is practically the only band that hasn't done the retread reunion tour circuit - and this being our 20th anniversary; we have discussed some options.

KEEL went on to record some great albums throughout the 80's and 90's, such as their second and third albums titled, "The Right To Rock," (1985) and "The Final Frontier," (1986) which were produced by the legendary Gene Simmons himself, and in my opinion KEEL'S two best albums to date.
KEEL were certainly on top of the world back in those day's, they were on the radio, were featured frequently on MTV, and were all over metal magazines everywhere.
Keel were living the life, and toured with huge bands such as Van Halen, Bon Jovi, and Aerosmith, as well as many other great bands throughout the KEEL years.

Keel's over-the-top conflagration of every cliché in the hard rock formula books made for some interesting listening way back when.
The band's keep-it-simple-but-keep-it-full-of-testosterone approach worked pretty well when the band was going balls-out, but when they slowed down to ballad speed, they seemed to lose the impact that power and loudness gave them otherwise.
Again, Keel managed to transcend their obvious dependency on formula with their sheer macho power; when they steered away from that, they were pretty dull.

The deeper the keel, the greater the distance the water has to travel to cause this cancellation of the difference in pressure on the keel so the more efficiently the keel performs.
This obverse reasoning is: Reversing the con-conventional fin shape increases the area available for pressure surface and decreases the area that results in drag caused by the flow of water breaking away from the fin.
