		McCardell played football at basketball-famous UNLV and left as the school’s leading receiver with 141 catches for 2,189 yards (15.5 yards per catch) and 15 touchdowns.
		McCardell established himself as a much-needed, reliable veteran presence in the San Diego receiving corps, but was not fantasy-significant until 2005, when, in his fifteenth season as a pro, he recorded one of the best campaigns of his career (70 catches, 917 yards and nine touchdowns).
