Keith Burkinshaw was born at Higham, in Yorkshire, on 23rd June 1935.
Burkinshaw, unhappy about the proposed changes, also fell out with Archibald when he refused to allow the substitution of Archibald in the first home game of the season.
Burkinshaw then resigned as Manager of the Club, looking over his shoulder to the new West Stand, making the withering observation, "There used to be a football club over there!".
