Keith Miller was lieutenant governor of Alaska when Wally Hickel collected on a political debt and joined Richard Nixon’s cabinet as secretary of the interior, making Miller the “Accidental Governor.” This happened in early 1969, when the state of Alaska was urgently trying to sell its soul to Big Oil.
Miller lost his bid for election to governor in 1970, having never won the job on his own, but that was not enough, alas, to forestall his autobiography.
Miller was not one of the insiders of his party, certainly not one of the chosen.

Miller led a somewhat of an interesting life and most of the book geared toward his life.
