So...What Happened with Keith In the last year of the band?, Keith and Jim wanted to pursue folk-based music, and despite Jimmy Page's willingness to move the Yardbirds in that direction.
From here Relf and McCarty formed the original "Renaissance" to expanded the group (the in the Renaissance's pics is Jane, the Keith's sister!
They were in the process of forming "Illusion" when, Keith tragically died at his home on May 14 1976 from a heart attack which may have been caused by receiving an electric shock from a guitar amplifier, while practicing...He had been planning this new group only a couple of weeks before his.

 The History Of Renaissance
Keith Relf and Jim McCarty were still very much involved in the direction of the band behind the scenes and while Relf eventually became disinterested, McCarty remained involved until 1973.
Relf suffered with asthma which was compounded by his heavy smoking and some believe that it was Relf's overall physical condition that caused what might have been only a shock to others to be enough electrocute him.
An unauthorised release entitled Offshoots was released in 1992.

March 22, 1943, in Richmond, England, Relf (along with a whole legion of other British teenaged musicians) re-discovered such blues masters as Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf during the early '60s, leading to Relf forming the Yardbirds along with mainstays Chris Dreja (guitar), Jim McCarty (drums), and Paul Samwell Smith (bass) in 1963.
Relf went on to form Renaissance, whose lush prog/art rock tendencies were completely different stylistically than his previous band, appearing on several albums before leaving the group.
Keith Relf's vocal style could be detected in numerous subsequent hard rock/blues-rock vocalists, including Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and AC/DC's Bon Scott, among others.

Keith Relf (born March 22, 1943, Richmond upon Thames, Surrey; died May 14, 1976, London) is best known as the lead singer and harmonica player of the Yardbirds.
After the Yardbirds broke up, Relf was involved in the duo Together (with fellow-Yardbird Jim McCarty), the groups Renaissance (which included his sister Jane Relf) and Armageddon.
Relf died in an accident, electrocuting himself while playing his electric guitar.

Filling out the group are Detroit-reared frontman/bassist John Idan, a lifelong Yardbirds fan who views his gig as a labor of love, and onetime Nine Below Zero member Alan Glen blowing harp in the spirit of the late Keith Relf, the band's original lead singer, who was electrocuted in 1976 while recording at home.
John brings to the band an energy and enthusiasm, as well as a very good knowledge of the original group and a respect for the original material.
