The line is of 1,067mm gauge and is double-tracked between Tokyo and Yokosuka.
Northbound trains frequently continue from Tokyo Station as Sōbu Line Rapid trains to Chiba Station or Narita Airport.

The Tokyo Waterfront Railway (東京臨海高速鉄道 Tokyo Rinkai Kosoku Tetsudo, or Rinkai Line) is a third-sector (funded by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Shinagawa-ku, and JR East) railway in Tokyo, Japan, connecting Tokyo to the artificial islands of Aomi and Odaiba in Tokyo Bay.
It is served by some trains on the JR Saikyo Line, which continue from Osaki to Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Omiya, and Kawagoe.
The line opened for service on March 30, 1996, from Kiba to the Teleport, and was extended to Osaki on December 1, 2002.

The JR Keiyō Line (京葉線) is a railroad that connects Tokyo Station in Tokyo, Japan and Soga Station in the city of Chiba, in Chiba Prefecture.
The name Keiyō is derived from the composition of the second characters of the names the cities linked by the line, Tōkyō (東京) and Chiba (千葉;).
The Keiyō Line should not be confused with the Keiō Line of the private Keiō Electric Railway (京王線), whose terminus is at Shinjuku.

 Best way to get from Tokyo Station to GH Tokyo
If you transit to the Keiyo line by taking that long walk at Tokyo station, there will be no supplement and your JR pass will be good the entire way.
In that case, get the hotel to tell the taxi to take you to the Keiyo line and they should drop you off so that you can avoid the long walk, but might still need to go down one flight of stairs (then there are escalators after that).
There is an escalator entrance to the Keiyo line directly in front of the Tokyo Mitsubishi Bank headquarters.

Alternately, you can take the "Yamanote line" one stop from Yurakucho station to Tokyo station, and then change over to the Keiyo line at Tokyo station but it's a bit of a long walk through the station as I said.
I know that something we follow the Yamanote line tracks from Yurakucho (you know, where all the little "drinking places, and food stands are?) and the first entrance for Tokyo station you come too is great cause it's right about the Keiyo line.
It's a beautiful old building and all, and it's neat to see all the bullet trains gliding in and out around there, BUT it is super far away from the Keiyo line platform that takes you to Chiba and Disneyland.

 The Blog From Another Dimension: New Train Lines
This was a bit of a deal for me and my school because one station on the line opened up pretty much across the street from our school doors; before then, one had to make a 12- to 15-minute walk from any one of 4 or 5 more or less equidistant train stations.
You may have noticed, by the way, this new line is coming at about the same time we might expect the new residential towers to be completed after they finish the archaeological excavation next door.
By the way, there are other rail extension plans slated for the future, including an extension of the JR Keiyo Line from Tokyo out to Mitaka; it would run in a tunnel underneath the Chuo Line, kind of like an alternate line to relieve congestion on the Chuo.

I took the Narita Express train to Tokyo station and then switched to the Keiyo line to Maihama.
I could get to the track for the Keiyo line without passing a ticket machine) The person at the information booth just told me to go and pay when I got off; I ended up riding along with a young Japanese man who saw me looking confused and he actually took care of all that.
The Keiyo line trip is pretty short, about 6 stops, but there is also time to negotiate Tokyo station between trains.

 My Second Trip to Japan
At Shin-Kiba, we were lucky enough to ride on one of new ex-Yamanote line 205 sets that have been relegated to the Keiyo line.
Along the way to Hachinoe, you could see the new Shinkansen line at various places, even though a major proportion of that line is in tunnels.
The station is right next to the JR Negishi line station, which is where the Keihin Tohoku line trains go after Yokohama, and I took that line back to Kamata.

The basic scheme is that the Yamanote Line is a circular loop surrounding downtown, with major stations Ueno, Tokyo, Shibuya, Shinjuku spread along it, and 25 other stations between them.
It is at, and its large trees are visible from, Harajuku Station (Yamanote Line), on the side of the tracks opposite the exit.
Take the Keiyo Line, the same train line as for Yatsu Higata, but get off earlier, at Kasairinkaikoen (the 5th stop from Tokyo on the local, and it is a local stop).

Access by train is by the Keiyo Line (not the Keio Line), five stops out of Tokyo, or by car off of Route 357.
Access by train is by the Keiyo Line (again) from Shin-Narashino Station; ask for directions at the station.
Experienced birders I've asked have told me that this spot along the river, at Seiseki-Sakuragaoka (on the main Keio Line) is the best place, but my luck has been less than great there.
