Kelemvor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kelemvor Lyonsbane was the seventh descendant of Kyle.
However, Kelemvor was ambushed on the root of the Blackstaff tower by Cyric, and was killed by the evil sword Godsbane, and his spirit was held by the sword.
Kelemvor's greatest enemy is Cyric, but he also fiercely opposes the machinations of Velsharoon, the necromancer god who animates the dead into undead and thus stands against everything Kelemvor works for, and Talona, for the unnatural deaths caused by her diseases.

Kelemvor spends a great deal of time in the company of Jergal, with whom he lives in the Crystal Spire of the Fugue Plane and from whom he learns the responsibilities and requirements of his station.

I've beginning a new campaign in FR and I am playing a human cleric of Kelemvor hailing from Cormyr and I would like some input on the activities of the clergy of Kelemvor in Cormyr.
Off-hand, I can't think of any temples, or even shrines, to Kelemvor in the major towns and cities of Cormyr (though there is one in Eagle Peak).
However, one thing to note is given the recent history of Cormyr and the horrible losses within the nation, a DM could justify an increased Kelemvor presence.

Created by high priest Bezurgathan Indraeyan (LN male human Clr16/Ftr1 of Kelemvor) himself with one of his lesser priests, it was originally a +1 bastard sword with its secondary property (see below), and was stolen by an undead shadowdancer in the midst of a battle with a minor lich's horde of bolstered skeletons and zombies.
It turned up a year later in the hands of a vampire in Westgate, who was slain by a visiting delegation of gold dwarves from the Great Rift.
It was given the undead bane property and awarded to Artun Farspeaker, a young paladin of the faith, who was lured into the Dread Lair of Alokkair a year ago and has not been since.

This is true for a deity to lay claim to a mortals soul: He or she (being the mortal) must ahve at one point in thier life considered a deity his or her patron god.
If the mortal had switched deitys during his or her liftime then that is when Kelemvor comes in and releases the soul to the Deity whom he feels the soul was more closely attuned to.
Kind of a nitpicky thing, but Kelemvor doesn't put anyone in the wall anymore, he changed the realm of the dead at the end of Crucible so that the faithless and false are forced to live a drab, hopeless afterlife in a city he created thats completely grey.

I personally always thought of Kelemvor as an Azrael figure so, I think that what the cleric is doing, killing others before their fate is sealed, or making a mockery of the life-death cycle with his petty magicks is offensive to Kelemvor.
(Kelemvor, Jergal, Osiris, and Urogalan all switch over to the Repose domain.) The only option left (other than the Orcish deity Yurtrus) is Velsharoon, and any paladin of Kelemvor whose faith in the Judge of the Damned is secure will NOT exactly get along with a follower of the Lord of the Forsaken Crypt.
The key words (that I didn't emphasize) is "such as this one." Kelemvor is all about natural death, and respecting the dead, and doesn't tolerate creating undead or death sacrifices.
