Ken Stimpson Community School is a single site school which is endowed with superb facilities, some of which are shared with Werrington District Library and Werrington Sports and Recreation Centre.
Ken Stimpson is a place not just for those involved in the compulsory element of education, but a place where everyone is welcome.
The school is also adept at utilising the skills and knowledge in the local community to contribute to classroom presentations and discussions.

Early October, parents and pupils were invited to have a first glimpse inside the new Voyager and Ken Stimpson schools and they came in great numbers.
The 'top secret' school uniform for the new £26 million Voyager School will be showcased on the catwalk by Year 8 students from Bretton Woods and Walton community schools.
The £45 million construction of Peterborough's Voyager School and extensions to the Jack Hunt and Ken Stimpson schools began on 14 March 2006.

 Peterborough City Council - Residents’ views sought on extension proposals for Ken Stimpson Community School
Werrington residents are being invited to have their say on the latest proposals for the extension of Ken Stimpson Community School at special presentation days to be held at the school next week.
The two bidders for the Peterborough Secondary Schools PFI Project, namely Land Securities Trillium and IIC Bouygues, will be displaying their proposals from 12noon to 8pm on Thursday, 15 and Friday, 16 September in Werrington Library (room L3) and the meeting room at the Werrington Sports and Recreation Centre.
The outline planning application for the Ken Stimpson Community School extension was withdrawn on 1 June this year to allow time for the PFI preferred bidders to work up more detailed proposals for public comment.

The school is not renowned for its speedy reactions to change initiatives, but the Principal, Mrs Malindi, is very aware that many benefits have occurred as the result of working with Link Community Development.
In addition to all Liz's help and advice on school management and methodology while she was there, Upper Culunca benefited by over £1,000 that was raised by her school and her sister's church and has been used to buy water-butts to save rain water, a very precious resource.
From the perspective of Ken Stimpson School, this is a project which both staff and students have supported from the beginning and are highly motivated to see succeed.

The Voyager School is to be a brand new coeducational and multi-ethnic community comprehensive school with 1,675 students aged 11 to 19.
The extension and refurbishment at Jack Hunt School in Netherton will increase the capacity of the school by one form of entry in each year group, with a similar increase in the sixth form, amounting to around an extra 175 students.

Peterborough Schools Private Finance Initiative (PFI) project has today (Thursday 29 September) announced the appointment of IIC Bouygues Education to design, build, finance and provide facilities management services for the next 30 years at the new Voyager School, Jack Hunt School and Ken Stimpson Community School.
The consortium is a joint venture between Investors in the Community and Bouygues Education (Bouygues UK for design and build, Ecovert FM for FM).
IIC Bouygues Education will be putting their plans for all the schools on display within the next few weeks and more details about the schemes will be available nearer the time.

Phase Two of the Secondary Review, which covers the three secondary schools in the south of the city (Stanground College, Orton Longueville School and Bushfield Community College) and Arthur Mellows Village College in the north of the city, is now being discussed.
The school began with Year 7 and Year 8 children and will gradually grow as a new Year 7 group is added each year.

 East of England Development Agency - Winners announced in schools awards
The partnership between the school and a local restaurant that has matured over the 3 years that it has been in existence; restaurant staff have taken over the school canteen for a day, whilst pupils run a series of Sunday lunch promotions within the restaurant.
The winner of the Work with Schools Student of the Year Award 2006 is a young Norfolk woman who used a link that her school developed with a local restaurant to turn around her academic chances.
She continues her training with a BTEC course in Hospitality and Catering at The Hotel School, City College, Norwich, where she is a proven excellent student and has volunteered to help at events in the Debut restaurant in her own time.

Miss Roberts will leave Ken Stimpson Community Primary School, in Werrington, in September to teach in the sunshine state for up to three years.
After two years, staff and pupils at the school in Staniland Way will be sad to see Miss Roberts but she has promised to get the youngsters in contact with American penpals.
Miss Roberts does not know which school she will be sent to in Miami but she will teach social studies, history, geography, politics, civics and economics to 11 to 16 year olds.

I am very privileged to be able to attend prayer groups at both of the schools that our daughters attend, and I have often thought how good it would be if there could be a group of people, in every school in Peterborough, committed to regularly meeting together to pray for their school.
One area that we have been praying into at the Ken Stimpson group has been for the increase of Christian staff members and governors.
Obviously this is dependant on the school’s willingness to provide an area, or to open a room at night.

 Peterborough City Council - Seven students rewarded for ‘excellent’ work with the youth service
Seven students from Ken Stimpson School are to receive awards from Peterborough City Council for their commitment and hard work on youth work projects that benefit the community.
The youngsters also re-designed cards for the youth service's You-Me-Us schools programme and are currently designing workbooks for the Year 8 schools' programme 'What's The Cost' which examines crime, environmental issues and anti-social behaviour.
They have assisted in some of the youth service's schools workshop programmes and are all working towards a national accreditation in citizenship.
