In its considerations, each commission is to take into consideration the community of interest or community of identity or the historical pattern of an electoral district in the province, as well as what constitutes a manageable geographic size in cases of sparsely populated, rural or northern regions.
The Report of the Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for New Brunswick, 2003 was tabled in the House of Commons on 12 February 2003.

The electoral district of Fundy—Royal was once called Royal (in 1952), reflective of the fact that it encompassed the counties of Kings and Queens.
While I recognize that, historically, electoral districts were divided for the most part on an urban-rural basis in Canada, it is also clear that the pattern has already been broken in six provinces, resulting in 18 existing and 18 proposed urban-rural electoral districts at this point in time.
The electoral district of Moncton—Riverview—Dieppe posed a significant challenge to the Commission inasmuch as the population of the electoral district exceeded the maximum electoral quota permitted under the Electoral Boundaries Readjustment Act.

The judicial recount in the electoral district of Kennebecasis continues Friday as a judge, lawyers and party agents examine each of the votes cast in the June 9 election.
The recount is significant because the Conservatives won 28 seats, the Liberals 26 seats and the NDP, one.
If the election results change for Kennebecasis, the precarious one-seat Tory majority would fall.

This Act amends the Canada Elections Act to extend disclosure requirements to electoral district associations and to leadership contestants and nomination contestants of registered parties.
It also amends the Income Tax Act to increase by $200 each of the brackets for which a tax credit for political contributions is eligible and to allow electoral district associations to issue tax receipts.
This Act accelerates the coming-into-force of the new electoral boundaries resulting from adjustments made to reflect the 2001 Census.
