Kennebunkport and Kennebunk, about 29 miles south of Portland, are popularly known as ''The Kennebunks." The area was an established community long before the first president-peepers arrived to train their binoculars and cameras on Walker's Point, the Bush family summer home.
The History Center of Kennebunkport offers a typical New England one-room schoolhouse, used until 1951, a shipwright's office, and old jail cells, as well as the Pasco Exhibit Center with permanent and changing exhibits related to the area.

As Kennebunkport prepares to observe the 350th anniversary of its incorporation in 2003, the calendar contains a brief history of the town and reports on its plans for a celebratory parade.
This is my sixth Kennebunkport calendar and it contains 18 new images (including a collage of four photos of the town's magical Christmas Prelude) that capture the special beauty of the town--- the coastline, Dock Square, the Kennebunk River, and Cape Porpoise----in all seasons.

Kennebunkport, 1/30/04: Today, the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust (KCT) and the Trust for Public Land (TPL) announced that the state's Land for Maine's Future Program (LMF) has given preliminary approval for a grant of $400,000 to the Kennebunkport Greenbelt Initiative, an effort to protect important land that abuts the Town Forest and create a town-wide greenbelt.
Approximately two years ago, Kennebunkport residents voted overwhelmingly to transfer most of the Town Forest property to KCT to ensure its permanent protection.
