Kennedy Township is a township in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States.
In the township the population was spread out with 20.5% under the age of 18, 5.5% from 18 to 24, 24.9% from 25 to 44, 26.0% from 45 to 64, and 23.1% who were 65 years of age or older.
The median income for a household in the township was $48,057, and the median income for a family was $56,339.

 $2 million Kennedy budget surplus is missing $500,000, group says
A Kennedy citizens group has asked the district attorney's office to investigate an alleged $500,000 discrepancy in the size of the township's surplus for 1998.
In a letter to Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr., the Kennedy Township Committee for Community Awareness said the township had reported a $1.5 million surplus for last year but its auditors said the surplus was slightly more than $2 million.
Also included is a two-page narrative in which the auditors praised township officials for their "aggressive tax-collection program" and for reducing the real estate millage from 14 mills to 7 mills in the past four years.

PITTSBURGH -- Officials in Kennedy Township in Western Pennsylvania today agreed to the American Civil Liberties Union's request that it suspend enforcement of a new ordinance that restricts peoples' right to go door-to-door to discuss political, religious and other issues face-to-face with community residents.
Kennedy's Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the ordinance on August 11, 2003, over objections from a community resident who said that the ACLU had already advised her that the new law violated constitutional free speech guarantees.
In its letter, the ACLU advised the Township of 2002 Supreme Court decision holding that a law very similar to the Pennsylvania law was an unconstitutional restriction on free speech.

Detectives from the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office Investigations Division received information of a theft involving over $50,000 in stolen aluminum forms taken from a contractor for Ryan Homes, in Kennedy Township.
Sheriff's Detectives confirmed the information with the Kennedy Township Police Department and conducted an investigation that lead them to a North Side scrap yard, where most of the stolen items were found along with one of the two suspects.
The individual was taken into custody with the second suspect being arrested a short time later by the Kennedy Township Police Department.
