The American Kennel Club is pleased to announce that CA AB 1634 was pulled today from the California Senate Local Government Committee by the bill sponsor Assemblymember Lloyd Levine.
National parent clubs wrote letters of opposition to this legislation and the AKC Delegates unanimously approved a resolution in opposition to AB 1634 at their June 11th meeting.
Contributions which are not tax deductible should be made payable to the American Kennel Club and the memo line on the check should indicate the funds are to be utilized for “canine legislation costs” and mailed to American Kennel Club Canine Legislation Dept., 5580 Centerview Drive, Raleigh, North Carolina 27606.

After approval, the Kennel name will be protected by the Hong Kong Kennel Club for use only by the registered member only as long as the annual renewal fee is continuously paid up.

A report on the meeting held between representatives from the British Schutzhund Association and The Kennel Club was recently considered by the general Committee.
The committee agreed that the meeting had been constructive and endorsed the general agreement that Kennel Club recognition of the Association’s activities would be mutually beneficial.
The Kennel Club is therefore pleased to announce that Schutzhund competitions held by the British Schutzhund Association have been added to the Kennel Club’s list of unrecognised unlicensed events.
