Topic: Kenneth Searight

 Sona language
Sona is "an auxiliary neutral language" created by Kenneth Searight[?] and described in a book he published in 1935.
Searight created Sona in response to the other artificial auxiliary languages of his time.
For this reason, Searight uses inspiration from many diverse languages to create his ecclectic yet regular and logical language.

Kenneth Searight (born Arthur Kenneth Searight) (December, 1883 - 1957) was the creator of the international auxiliary language Sona.
There is some reason to believe that Searight was the model for the hero of Forster's novel Maurice.
Although the Sona book is Searight's only published work, he also compiled a 600-page manuscript work called the Paidikion.

 Sona - UniLang Wiki
Searight, a polyglot and amateur linguist, drew grammatical principles from a number of sources: Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Pushtu (an Afghan language), Persian, English, French, Russian, Italian, and Indo-European roots.
Searight was a British army officer who served in India, Iraq, and Egypt with British and native troops.
Searight also claims to have been inspired by Roget's Thesaurus, particularly Roget's suggestion that the 1000 terms in the original thesaurus could be codified to make an artificial language.

Kenneth Searight (born Arthur Kenneth Searight) was the creator of the Sona language.
It could be guessed that it was during this extensive travel that Searight developed his interest in linguistics and his familiarity with Middle Eastern and Far Eastern languages and cultures.
Ogden was also the editor of the Psyche Miniatures series at Cambridge University, and he approved and published the SonaBook, as well as writing an introduction for it.

 Sona - Langmaker
Sona is an auxlang that was invented by Kenneth Searight in 1935.
A priori, but in his book Searight references Persian, Arabic, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, and English.
There's a very minimal lexicon -- Searight mentions Roget's thesaurus -- but unlike similar tiny languages, Sona seems to be complete enough for real usage: 375 words (360 "radicals" plus 15 "particles").
