Gradney was just 20 at the time, but imagine the stories he must have to tell.
Remaining members Gradney, keyboardist Bill Payne, guitarist Paul Barrere, percussionist Sam Clayton and drummer Richie Hayward reunited in 1986 for an impromptu jam session at Alley rehearsal hall in Los Angeles to christen a room that had been dedicated to George.

Jimmy Herring (Allman Brothers/Phil Lesh/Aquarium Rescue Unit/Project Z) may be one of the most notable unsung heroes of the electric guitar.
Bassist Kenny Gradney and Little Feat drummer Richie Hayward provide the solid backbone no matter what the musical calling: rock, two-step or slap-happy funk as on "Cats Out Da Bag."
If there's one standout piece (to pick amongst standouts) it's Herring's 6/8 "Lockwood Folley." The entire band sinks their collective teeth into this one, but Herring's acoustic, then electric solos are simply stellar.
