Jones was a member of the renowned English pop-rock/mod band the Small Faces from 1965 to 1969.
From 1978 to 1983, Jones was the drummer for the Who, replacing original drummer Keith Moon, who had died from an overdose of medication combating his alcoholism.
Jones reunited with the Who in 1985 to perform at Live Aid and again in 1988 when the Who were recognized by the British Phonograph Industry in 1988.

If The Who were as bad as some made them out to be back then, and if Kenny Jones was a 'simplistic drummer', you wouldn't know it by the jammed packed stadiums and the majical fan reaction.
