In the county, the population is spread out with 27.10% under the age of 18, 9.40% from 18 to 24, 31.30% from 25 to 44, 20.70% from 45 to 64, and 11.50% who are 65 years of age or older.

The Kenosha County Library System (KCLS) is an agency of Kenosha County established according to Chapter 43 of the Wisconsin Statutes to provide for the extension and improvement of library services throughout the County.
The City of Kenosha, the villages of Silver Lake, Twin Lakes, and Paddock Lake, and the towns of Randall and Salem are exempt from the County Library Tax.
Kenosha County uses a standard formula to reimburse the Community Library and the Kenosha Public Library for the cost of open access.

The legislature approved the expansion of Family Care to Kenosha County in the last biennial budget but it was vetoed by Governor McCallum.
Kenosha County officials were also pleased that Governor Doyle would continue state efforts to reform long-term care despite the bleak outlook for state-funded programs in general.
County Executive Allan Kehl and State Senator Bob Wirch stressed their concerns about the impact of state cuts to other services.

After the war, the War Fund was dissolved and we changed the name to Kenosha Community Fund and it remained so until 1959 when this organization was dissolved in favor a United Fund encompassing all of Kenosha County.
The United Way movement in this county and across the nation has impacted countless lives since its first inception back in the 1887 when a Denver priest, two ministers and a rabbi put their heads together to plan the first united campaign for 10 health rand welfare agencies.

The closeness of known CWD positives across the border in Illinois caused us to consider the deer population in our border counties to be at risk for the disease,” said Tom Hauge, Director of Wildlife Management with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
Both the Wisconsin DNR and Illinois DNR increased CWD surveillance efforts in the border counties during the Fall 2003 deer hunt.
Like in all other areas of the state, hunters from Kenosha County that submitted deer for CWD testing will receive a postcard from the DNR if the deer they harvested tested negative for CWD.
