	Rurouni Kenshin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		In Brazil, Rurouni Kenshin was published by "Editora JBC" under the title Samurai X in 56 volumes (each volume is a half of the original tankōbon), maintaining its original Japanese manga reading format (from the top-right corner to the bottom-left corner of the book).
		Kenshin Kaden, a Rurouni Kenshin encyclopedia was also released by the same publisher in November of 2004.
		The source of Kenshin's cross scars were introduced in the four episodes OVA entitled Samurai X, but the source of the idea was revealed during an interview with the creator of the series.

		It is clear the Kenshin didn't like him whoeever he was, and at some point I remember one of the characters referring to him as being one of the Shinsen Gumi.
		The young Shinsen gumi member Okita who (i assume you watched the dub since you hired the tapes) is made out to be saitohs lietunant is in fact the captain of the Shinsen Gumi 1st division while Saitoh is the captain of the 3rd division.
		When he fought Kenshin in the ovas he was suffering from a sickness and not too inexperienced to beat kenshin as saitoh says.

		When I recently watched the RK movie, there were many characters I didn't know.
		Saitoh is the character you are referring to and he is actually Kenshin's ally in a sick sadistic sort of way.
		Don't worry my wanted to be banned friend I too though the battousai (assassin) had also killed everybodies favourite Rk and shinsen gumi member (me will give a wheelchair gatotsu to whoever disagrees).
