Kentia Palms begin producing seeds once they are mature, after about 12-15 years.
It is still not known how long the palms can live, but one of the trees on the island's golf course with the date 1885 carved on its trunk, still produces seed.

Kentia Palm, growing aprox 6yrs at Wollogbar on Far North Coast of New South Wales, Australia.
Once the palm outgrows the interior of the house I plan to plant it in a wooded area of my property (where I have other tender palms such as adonidia, Veitchia, Carpentaria, A. cunninghamiana, etc.) where it will be fairly well protected from frost.
My palm, under the entryway, has never suffered any winter damage, but I doubt if this palm has ever seen much under 30 degrees F under the entryway.
