Johnny Haynes was born in the Kentish Town area of London, and attended The Latymer School in Edmonton during his youth.
His final appearance, for England was on June 10, 1962 - a 3-1 defeat by Brazil at Estadio Sausalito in Viña del Mar, Chile.
In his record 658 appearances for Fulham, 594 of which were in the Football League, he rose to become club captain and scored a total of 158 goals, another club record and one which was only surpassed by striker Gordon Davies in 1991.

She revealed yesterday (Wednesday) that she had asked for a special briefing on the Prince of Wales Baths in Kentish Town amid fears that the pool could be shut and sold off.
Kentish Town residents broadcaster Jon Snow and actor Roger Lloyd Pack, who played Trigger in Only Fools and Horses and is currently starring in the new Harry Potter film, have both added their names to the list of residents opposing plans that could see the pool closed.
A more cynical person might wonder why Kentish Town Baths were put 'into play' recently just as these proposals were nearing the time for their publication.

Despite the status of attending such an event, people wouldn’t always inform George that they were ‘in town’ as he was badly disorganised, quiet often leaving his guests unoccupied whilst he took two hours to get ready.
Wandering around the crypt, I learned that London held a thanksgiving for George III’s recovery from mania which incorporated holidays, bonfires, displays and commemorative medals and from which celebratory songs and poems were composed.
Afterwards, with another sunny day in London I strolled the streets again, this time starting along New Bond Street and into Old Bond Street which is likened to 6th Avenue in New York and Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles.

The food has subtle spices in things like stews and stir fries, served with the traditional bread, which you might recognise if you've been to Morocco and had those "pancakes" that look a bit like crumpets.
I highly recommend the Ethiopian coffee, which is a bit like arabic coffee but darker roast (Kaffa in Ethiopia was of course where coffee drinking first began).
It's good value even for Kentish Town (mains at c.£7.50) and certainly not a rip off, unless perhaps Haile is comparing it with the prices in Addis Ababa?!

I have first hand experience of the chavs in this part of town and nearly came a croper because of them; when walking home from work recently along Leighton Road I was bombarded with water balloons from a nearby estate which i was overjoyed at as i was in a suit.
I shouted at the f***ers to show themselves so i could weave their heads into the pavement only to be confronted by 10 chavs standing up from behind a balcony.
Ah, but if one wanders just off Kentish Town road and down into Camden high street you will find that there are almost NO chavs down there - this is because Camden high street and its markets are known as the biggest 'alternative/gothic' place in England...

Sitting in the pub, Colin’s local, Colin commented, ‘With a pool table, good Thai menu, big screen TV, local ales and a good atmosphere, what more could you want in a local?’ Maybe I could say the Surf Club is the local back home but it’s not the same.
Thankfully it was all to schedule and I arrived safely and on time back in Kentish Town.
Their standard response was ‘Who has the World Cup?’ which was met with ‘You’re only as good as your last game’ and in England’s case it’s been a year of losses since that World Cup win.
