Kentucky Dam is a dam on the Tennessee River on the dividing line between Livingston County and Marshall County in the U.S. state of Kentucky.
The impetus for construction of a dam in the area was the devastating 1937 flood of the Ohio River, and the desire for electric generation.
The dam is near the New Madrid Seismic Zone, which produced earthquakes of estimated magnitude 7.0 to 7.9 in 1811, approximately 60 miles (100 km) northeast of the zone's center.

Kentucky Dam Village is an aproximately 3400 acre district located off U.S. Highway 641 in Gilbertsville, KY. The district is currently part of Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park.

The $10.2 million in improvements at Kentucky Dam Village and Lake Barkley state resort parks is in part a response to patrons complaining about the rooms being too hot or too cold.
Kentucky Dam Village received $4.3 million for renovation of 72 lodge rooms and the convention center.
Ward said a few years ago only five of Kentucky's 17 resort parks were listed in the AAA Tour Book, but this year all 17 will be listed thanks to some low-cost improvements including landscaping, new signs and employee training.
