Kenyon and Knott is the informal name for A Pronouncing Dictionary of American English, first published in 1944 by John Samuel Kenyon and Thomas A. Knott.
Kenyon and Knott use a broad transcription rather than a narrow one.
John C. Wells, Longman Group Ltd. 1995, [ISBN 0-582-05383] have replaced it, providing more contemporary pronunciations.

The Village of Kenyon is in the north-east part of Richmond, R.I. Richmond was divided from Charlestown on August 18, 1747.
Kenyon's Mills (1) was situated on the main line of the New York, Providence and Boston Railroad, and as early as 1772 a saw mill and an iron manufactory existed where the mills are now located.
Kenyon itself is in the heart of famous South County, the loveliest part of Rhode Island, still largely unspoiled by modern industrial development.

 Carr, John
“John Carr, who is carrying on general farming on section 22, Polk township, was born on the farm, upon which he is now residing, on the 2d of April, 1875, his parents being Samuel and Martha (Smales) Carr, whose marriage occurred in 1850.
The former, who was born in Fayette county, Ohio, was the fourth in a family of nine children, his birth occurring May 25, 1825, and the latter was a daughter of John Smales, a native of Virginia.
Samuel Carr came to Iowa with his parents when fifteen years of age and assisted in the opening and clearing of the farm which his father undertook to cultivate.

 Kenyon Bible
Benjamin Kenyon (1831-1910), grandson of Gardner and Mary Kenyon, the only son of Henry W. Kenyon (1803 - 1834), was named in the will of his cousin, Jacob Gardner Kenyon who died in Seattle, Washington, on December 22nd 1892.
The bulk of his considerable estate was left to three cousins: Benjamin Kenyon inheriting the Seattle property, with Ruth A. VanValkenburg and Martha Kenyon (VanValkenburg) Beaujean sharing the property in Humboldt County, California.
The "American Genealogist" in July 1937 published a brief family record of Gardner Kenyon and Mary Adams and in the article mentioned, "...To prove their claim, the old Kenyon Bible was sent west and unfortunately lost.

Born in Logan Co., KY, Daniel, the fourth child of Samuel and Nancy Elizabeth Orr Chenoweth, married in Madison Co., IA. (organized from Polk Co.), at the age of twenty-seven, to Elizabeth M. Butler, six years younger than he and the daughter of John and Susan Butler.
He was a farmer and a respected pioneer of the Madison County area.
Samuel was active in the community, serving on a school board and supporting a vigilante group to guard against a group of Reeve family members, who were robbing and terrorizing the countryside.
