Kevin Max (born August 17, 1967) is an American singer, songwriter, and poet.
Kevin was himself adopted by the Smith family and grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Kevin showed incredible vocal and musical talent early in his life and his talent grew while at Grand Rapids Baptist High School and later at Cornerstone University.

Kevin Max however was born centuries later and is a brilliant musical mind who pens poetic lyrics that challenge you to think about your faith, life and how you are going to improve both.
Max's in your face lyrics are intended to encourage those who understand their meaning and hopefully to jar out of complacency those who are more intent on maintaining political correctness.
Max's creativity hasn't suffered any as a solo artist and his CD The Imposter is populated with plenty of great tunes such as "Platform" and "Stay (The Same As Yesterday)" that bear that European influence.

Kevin Max, known to most as the enigmatic and more artistic third of super group DC Talk, is back at long last with his sophomore solo record, “The Imposter”.
Max sounds like a man possessed on the opening rocker “Confessional Booth” in which he echoes the sentiment “I take back everything I said that ever caused you pain or stress” over and over.
Kevin Max has been through a lot and has been the subject of much debate and speculation since DC Talk went on hiatus and this album feels like it was made for him rather than his fans.

Anyone familiar with the work of Kevin Max knows that he always seems to have a flashy trick up his sleeve.
Max calmly performs one of them like a beatnik in a coffee house, and the other is performed by Coffee from the band Grits.
The second stand-out melody on this disc, and the spot where Max's genius shines, is the song 'Her Game.' This song didn't actually catch me the first time I heard it, but I think now that I must not have been listening.
