Since Kexi is not document-driven, but project-driven instead, startup dialogs and new/open/save actions are implemented not just like in typical application.
A main difference is that in Kexi you may want to open a database connection (pointed by user) and then selected database/project within that conenction.

The KOffice 1.6 release will be mainly a feature release for the Krita, Kexi and KChart.
KOffice 1.6 will be developed in parallel with KOffice 2.0, which will be mainly a port of KOffice to Qt4.

A working version of the KDE program Kexi is already available for win32.
The project started in march 2004 to enable building and running existing KDE applications under win32 as native (without X11 and Cygwin) MS Windows programs, without changing almost anything in the source code texts.
As Kexi doesn't (yet?) use KDE network API, this wasn't high priority for me to port it.
