Keyboard shortcut - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A keyboard shortcut (also known as an accelerator key, shortcut key, or hotkey) is one or a set of keyboard keys that, when pressed simultaneously, perform a predefined task.
A simple keyboard shortcut, requiring only one set of keys to be pressed at a time, is usually written as the names all of its component keys, separated by either a plus sign or a hyphen; for example, "Ctrl-Alt-A" or "Ctrl+Alt+A".
Most keyboard shortcuts no longer require this, but they were common in earlier versions of MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows.
