Ramesses II - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The writer Terence Gray stated in 1923 that Ramesses II had as many as 20 sons and 20 daughters; more recent scholars, however, believe his offspring were far fewer.
His children include Bintanath and Meritamen (princesses and their father's wives), Sethnakhte, the Pharaoh Merneptah (who succeeded him - he is his 13th son), and Prince Khaemweset.
In his Year 2, Ramesses II decisively defeated the Sherden sea pirates who were wreaking havoc along Egypt's Delta coasts by attacking cargo-ladden vessels travelling along the Mediterranean.

I know in my heart that it is no for love of me he hangs on to me, but for some way that union with me would be an advantage to him in some way, that of yet I do not fathom.
To be touched by Prince Khaemweset would be like having Horas enfold me in his wings and protect me for life.
He is a great warrior and deserves a warrior wife by his side, one who will continue to learn and take care of him and give him strong and wise sons and daughters.

The minute that they carry me through the door to the hall, I see Prince Khaemweset in the corner talking to a group of women and looking bored, but when he sees the bark his eyes light up and his interest is peaked.
When Prince Khaemweset sees the bark floating and has one of his servants wade out to see who is in it, it will be empty, except for the fragrance, which will disappear, the mask and the slippers.
He says that Prince Khaemweset has been free far to long and will benefit from a woman as devious as I am as he has from Nefertari, then he laughs almost to the point of making himself sick.

 Egypt.edu : actualité
The September 1 finding indicates that « this small hill is the centre of the cult of King Khufu (Cheops) and Sekhmet, » said Yoshimura, adding that around eight other statues of Sekhmet were found in the chamber.
That would date the chamber to around 1200 BC, or more than 1,300 years after King Cheops built the largest of the three Great Pyramids at Giza, north of Saqqara, proving he was worshipped long after his death.
the japanese professor, who has worked in egypt for over 30 years, said he believes the chamber, built as a tomb but used to store precious objects, is linked to the nearby late 19th dynasty tomb of ramses ii's fourth son, prince khaemweset, who he now believes worshipped king cheops.

The writer Terence Gray stated in 1923 that Ramesses II had as many as 200 sons and 200 daughters; more recent scholars, however, believe his offspring, while numerous, were far fewer, somewhere around 90.
Ramesses II only has three biological children: Kha'emweset, Merytamon (she being the only child of Nefertari, the two others being from Iset) and Merneptah.
The other "children" are only young officials trained for government and who are nicknamed "sons of the pharaoh".

Ramesses' son, KHaemweset, the great magician prince, is a handsome, likable protagonist the reader longs to embrace and we revel in his perfect family, exalted position, sense of duty and the love he has for his country.
In history, despite Khaemweset's popularity with the people, his beauty, his competence, he does not become crown prince-why?
This was the first novel I read of Pauline Gedge, and I was very impressed with the description and talent she introduced into the book.

I would rather expect Khaemweset to have a rather splendid chapel/tomb in Saqqara or even in the Valley of the Kings of Queens.
