Khanate is a project from Stephen O'Malley of Sunn O))) (additional info and facts about Sunn O)))), Burning Witch and the Lotus Eaters.
The band produces songs that are often exceed the 10 minute mark, and are characterised by harsh layers of feedback combined with vocalist Alan Dubin's torturous vocals, which consist of extremely painful (to the listener - and presumably Dubin's voicebox) shrieking and screaming.
Currently the band appears to be on their rest period with O'Malley turning his attention back to Sunn O))) for the time being.
