	Khankendi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Khankendi (Stepanakert) is a town in Azerbaijan 350 km west of the capital Baku.
		Until 1991 the town was a provincial center of Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region and currently it is the capital of the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
		Azeris refer to it by its pre-Soviet name Khankendi (meaning 'village of the khan').

		Until very recently, both articles were "substubs", but Khankendi has recently been expanded into an article.
		I believe the category should be named Khankendi, since this is the most accurate English version of the current name of the town (Xankandi).
