Stephenson played college soccer at Williams College from 2000 to 2003, where he was named a Division III first-team All-American his junior and senior seasons.
Upon graduating, Stephenson was drafted 27th overall in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft by the Chicago Fire.

Williams senior midfielder/forward Khari Stephenson (Kingston, Jamaica) a third round draft pick (28th overall) by the Chicago Fire in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft has been traded by the Fire to the Kansas City Wizards in exchange for the Wizards' 3rd round pick in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft.
Stephenson's comfort level in Kansas City was also heightened by playing with fellow countryman Shavar Thomas who had starred at UConn and played with Stephenson on the Jamaican U 23 National Team.

Stephenson, who played college soccer at Williams College from 2000 to 2003, is not a goal-shy person as was evident in his outstanding record at College.
Khari, who has a degree in economics, is enjoying life in the Scandinavian country with a population of nine million.

Khari has been used in different positions at Wizards, leaving the 24 year-old unsettled and it had apparently affected his performance.

Jamaican midfielder and former Williams College standout Khari Stephenson, who played just 401 regular-season and playoff minutes for Kansas City during the past two seasons, has signed with GAIS Gothenburg of the Swedish League, according to agent Pat McCabe.
Stephenson, 25, would have counted as a senior international in MLS this season.
Stephenson scored a goal against San Jose in the 2004 playoffs and played against the USA for Jamaica in the quarterfinals of the 2005 Gold Cup.

My Swedish isn't what it used to be, but according to the team's website, Stephenson opened the season in the starting mix for his Gothenburg-based club, appearing in two league matches and six reserve team matches.
