The Kharoti get their name from the Pashto word Kharrata which refers to a special type of turban given a Special Sufi school which was connected to Sayyid 'Ali Uthman Hujwari(rah); 10th century Sufi Saint who wrote the epic work Kashful Mahjub.
As the Ghaznawids lost control of much of their empire to the Ghorian(who were also Pashtoon despite others who claim otherwise) the Ghaznawids began seeking refuge with the Nashers.
From then on these descendents of Ghaznawid royalty ruled Ghazni as a branch of the Kharoti tribe called the Nashers who eventually raised the Infamous Sher Khan Nasher the founder of Modern Kunduz.

They disclosed Rehmatullah, cousin of the controller, ambushed the coalition troops, who were on their way back to the Machadad Fort from the Birmal-Lara town after conducting a hunt for the Afghan escapees believed to be hiding in the South Waziristan sub-tehsil.
The ambush that lasted two hours, from 9 to 11pm (local time), left dead seven coalition troops and four members of the Kharoti tribe guiding them, one authoritative account said.
Rehmatullah was also killed by in the cross-fire and his body was taken into custody by the troops, who later invited the Malakshai tribesmen to talks.
