Copper and lead are found in several parts of the Aravalli range and of the minor ridges in Alwar and Shaikhawati, and iron ores abound in several states.
Good building materials are obtained from many of the rocks of the country, among which the Raialo limestone (a fine-grained crystalline marble) and the Jaisalmer limestone stand pre-eminent.

Juhu Lane resident and 35-year-old Naresh Khetri committed suicide on April 18 by hanging himself from a tree in the same lane.
Khetri, a watchman at Ankur Building on 10th Road, JVPD, suspected his wife of having an affair with someone, say DN Nagar police officials.
Khetri is survived by his wife Poonam and a son.

The Khetri expansion project is the thin dividing line between HCL becoming chronically sick and therefore being a dead weight for the government-and between showing some promise as a viable unit and being able to attract investors when its equity is put on the block.

By 1928, Cordoba Copper was renamed the Indian Copper Corporation, and, in that year, began operating the Mosaboni mine in Bihar and metallurgical operations started in Ghatsila.
Activities continued in both Khetri and Ghatsila during the '40s, '50s and '60s and, production of both refined copper and fabricated copper was increasing.
Today, HCL operates two integrated smelter-cum-refinery complexes at Khetri and Ghatsila, producing annually about 45,000 tonnes of copper-in-concentrates and, about the same tonnage in the form of refined copper-cathodes, wire bars and CC rods.
