		KHODORIV, Ukraine - Earlier this year, the three Sochan brothers - formerly of Khodoriv, a town of 12,500 located southwest of Lviv, and currently of the New York/New Jersey area - had a family meeting to discuss what to do with their home back in Ukraine.
		Today Khodoriv bears the laurels and the scars of the history of this region of Ukraine - from Kozak graves to monuments honoring local veterans of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army.
		Antin Sochan was born in Khodoriv in 1895 and was a veteran of the Ukrainian liberation struggle in 1918-1920.

		It is, naturally, the inicial of the toponym "Khodoriv".
		The text specifies that the blue stripes should be 1/10th of the height, but the image at the Ukrainian Heraldry Assn. site shows it 1/5th.
		It is connected with a male name Fedir and the situation of the town above a big lake.In the XV century it got a status of a town and a seal.

	OBITUARY: Walter Y. Sochan, UNA executive officer and community leader (06/03/01)
		Born on November 7, 1923, in Khodoriv, Ukraine, he emigrated to the United States in 1949 and became a U.S. citizen in 1954.
		Sochan completed the Ridna Shkola elementary school in Khodoriv, then attended the Ukrainian Academic Gymnasium in Lviv and graduated from secondary school in Khodoriv.
		World War II interrupted his subsequent studies at the Lviv Polytechnic Institute, where he was majoring in mechanical engineering.

		I spent a week with my Ukrainian family in their home in the small village of Otynevychi at 49º, 26' north latitude, and 24º, 19' east longitude, in the Zhydachiv district of L'viv Oblast, Ukraine.
		A large town near by is Khodoriv, which was established in 1394, and Otynevychi dates back to 1515.
		We stayed in the house that my Grandmother was born in, 1889, renovated of course.

		How long do regional RAHS offices keep their records before sending it to State Archives?
